Get to know Québec en tournée

Interview with Lucie Brault, President and Founder of Québec en tournée

How would you sum up Québec en tournée in a single sentence?

We're the link between people who want to immigrate and work in Quebec, and the companies that want to hire them.

And in several sentences?

We offer a support service for future arrivals interested in living and working in Quebec. Our turnkey package encompasses all the issues involved in expatriation. The recruitment component is designed for Quebec companies looking to recruit internationally.

Who is your target clientele?

Anyone dreaming of working in Quebec, and companies wishing to recruit employees from abroad.

Why would person immigrating to Quebec benefit from using your services rather than taking care of all formal requirements on their own at a lower cost?

People who use our services actually save money! Mistakes, even the tiniest ones, can cost a lot of time and money. No one wants to be denied access to their flight because they're missing a form to clear customs, or to see their spouse or child left behind. Immigration laws are constantly changing. Working with experts who know their stuff reduces stress and avoids major disappointments.

Why should companies looking to hire International employees work with QET?

Our recruitment service is highly personalized and agile, far beyond the framework of large trade shows where candidates wander from one booth to another. We support companies in their search for employees and provide candidates with all the information they need to prepare their expatriation. People tend to believe that the stress of integration rests solely on the immigrant's shoulders, but companies invest a lot of time, energy and money in recruiting them: when this alliance doesn't work seamlessly, both parties seriously miss out.

How do you support your customers? Tutorials, conferences, brochures? Do you offer direct assistance when needed?

Yes, all of these resources! We offer a wide range of services, from a simple consultation to taking complete charge of the immigration process, including finding accommodation, a school or daycare, and so on. Every client has different needs, and by visiting our site, one can see all the facets of our expertise.

The immigration sector is not exempt from fraud. Why should one trust your services?

Fraud does exist in immigration, as it does everywhere else. Never do business with an organization without checking its legitimacy. Go to their website, explore their "About" page, check whether their lawyers are members of the Quebec Bar, etc. This doesn't guarantee their efficiency, but it does reassure you that you're dealing with the right people who will comply with the law. And don't forget to call or email them before making your first payment. With QET, rest assured that someone will get back to you! Post-pandemic, we are resuming our missions abroad to meet with you in person and learn more about your needs, as well as those of the companies that need our help in recruiting the best candidates.

I loved my vacation in Quebec and I want to move here. What do I need to know before taking any steps?

Unless it's at war or plagued by natural disasters, Quebec is no better than your home country, nor is it paradise. Quebec is unique and has a lot to offer, but it's important to be realistic in your expectations: you have to be prepared, well informed and aware that, on vacation, we see a place through rose-colored glasses! What's exciting is not Quebec per se, but expatriation in general--the desire to experience a new culture and new adventures.
